  • London: National Gallery - European art 13th - 20th century
  • Brussels: Les Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique - Bruegel
  • Basel: Antikenmuseum - large collections of Egyptian, Greek, Etruskian and Roman objects
  • Stockholm: Vasamuseum - unique old ship, photo
  • Copenhagen: Glypothek - Etruscian & classical art in tasteful building
  • Bayeux: tapestry from 1066. The real thing is very well preserved and about 70 m long.

  • - Ingolstadt: Armeemuseum - 30 years war

  • Sian / Xian, China: Historical museum. Maybe the most important museum for Chinese archaeology. Also while in Xian, have a look at the impressive city wall and moat.
