According to a report (khabar) by Prophet
famous companion
Abû Hurairah

The value and significance of this report lies in the fact that this companion of the Prophet could summarize in six aphorisms the essential points of Islamic Tradition. Thus, we have here a summary of the desired Islamic behaviour, which is necessary for every muslim and muslima.

Abu Huraira said the following: “Whoever has been blessed with six (characteristics), will not be deprived of six others (man ruziqa sittan, lam yuhram sittan)”:

1. Who has been given the favour of being thankful (al-shukr) [who can be thankful as a normal state] will not be deprived of a surplus of favours; according to the quranic Word to this effect:

And when your Lord made it known: If you are grateful, I would certainly give to you more..
Qur'ân 14, 7

2. Who has been given the favour of patience (al-sabr), will not be missing his reward [in this life and the next] according to the quranic Word:

... only the patient will be paid back their reward in full without measure.
Qur'ân 39, 10

3. He who is able to repent (al-taubah), will see his repentance accepted, according to the quranic Word:

And He it is Who accepts repentance from His servants ...
Qur'ân 42, 25

4. He who can ask God for forgiveness (al-istighfâr), the divine pardon (al-maghfirah) will not be taken from him; according to the quranic Word (in which Noah’s warnings to his people is mentioned):

... Ask forgiveness of your Lord, surely He is the most Forgiving
Qur'ân 71, 10

5. Who has been given spiritual openings to direct his requests (al-du'â') (often and extensively) to God, his prayers will certainly be granted, according to the quranic Word:

And your Lord says: Call upon Me, I will answer you..
Qur'ân 40, 60

6. Who has be given the power to give alms of his propety (al-nafaqah), their replacement will not be missed, according to the quranic Word:

... and whatever thing you spend, He exceeds it in reward, and He is the best of Providers.
Qur'ân 34, 39

For Allah speaks the truth, and He alone guides on the straight path.
